Data Access Policy

All tags are provided free of charge by the Southwest Monarch Study (SWMS). The cost of tags is covered solely by donations to SWMS. SWMS gathers and stores all data on where and when these tags were deployed and recovered. SWMS owns these data and controls access to them until such time as they are published or otherwise made publicly available by SWMS. At that point, they will be placed in a publicly-accessible data repository. This data ownership policy aligns with data ownership practices in other Citizen Science research programs.
